Creating a quilt block for Liberty Fabric's 150th Anniversary Collective Quilt
I never pass up the chance to work with Liberty Fabrics, so when my friend Ashley (@Purl_Magnolia) invited me to join #LibertyPatchworkCollective project— I was all in!
The kit included a medley of fabric and quilt block patterns, and while these colors aren’t my usual style, I was immediately drawn to the “tube line” fabric. It reminded me of the London Underground (one of my favorite things about London!), so with a little fussy-cutting, I paired my main fabric choice with a pink floral to add a bit of softness to the gritty subway vibe. I also chose the Friendship Star block pattern because it reminded me of a compass, tying into the theme of travel. 🧭🤓
Today, I'm sending this quilt block off to be part of Liberty’s collective quilt, made up of quilt blocks from around the world, commemorating their 150th anniversary — which makes me feel super giddy to be a part of their history. 🤗 It was such a fun challenge, and I really enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone with these fabrics! 🤗💖 If you’re reading this, thanks, Ashley!! 💖
